Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Antonio Conte after the Italian left Inter Milan earlier this week.
Within hours of reports emerging that Zinedine Zidane had resigned from his position in the Real dugout, it emerged that Conte was also departing San Siro after Inter officials imposed restrictions in the transfer market.
While the timing of both developments were a coincidence, Los Blancos may allegedly look to take advantage of another high-profile manager becoming a free agent.
According to Sky Italia, the Real hierarchy had been keen to appoint Massimiliano Allegri before the Italian agreed to return to Juventus.
Conte is now regarded as an ideal alternative to his compatriot and discussions could now take place over the coming days.
The 51-year-old had recently ended Inter's decade-long wait for another Serie A title.
