The second child of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez was born to a surrogate mother, according to reports.
The 28-year-old posted a photo on Instagram on Monday depicting him touching hands with his new baby son, Samuel.
Reports in his native Colombia suggest that his current partner, Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima, is not the birth mother and that instead he has had a child via a surrogate, much like his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has done on multiple occasions.
Rodriguez already has one child - a daughter called Salome, aged six - who lives with his former partner Daniela Ospina, an ex-volleyball player and the sister of former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina.
Formerly of Porto and Monaco, the midfielder is currently back with Madrid after Bayern Munich opted not to sign him on a permanent basis and he has scored one goal in nine games for Zinedine Zidane's side this season.
