Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that his reported strained relationship with Barcelona's Lionel Messi is a myth.
The duo are widely regarded as two of the best players in the history of the sport and the two standout individuals in the modern day.
It has been reported in various quarters that the pair have a poor relationship due to their fight to become the world's best player, but Ronaldo has insisted that the pair have "a good relationship".
"He is very important for Barcelona and for football. He does his job and I do mine. I've always had a good relationship with him," Ronaldo told Cadena SER after winning the Ballon d'Or on Monday.
At the award ceremony in Zurich, Ronaldo also claimed that he would have liked to play in the same team as the Argentine.
