Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that his side were better than Barcelona this season.
Ronaldo, who leads the league with Lionel Messi on goals scored, grabbed another in Madrid's 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames as the club secured the La Liga title.
"I am incredibly happy," he told the club's official site. "This is my first league title in Spain and I am delighted.
"The league is even harder with a team like Barcelona, but we were better than them. We've achieved our objective and we're all excited about winning La Liga.
"I have two Golden Boot awards at home. It would be nice to win another, but I wouldn't mind it if I didn't."
Madrid have a seven-point lead over rivals Barcelona with two games to go.
