Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado has backed Dani Carvajal to occupy the right-back berth for Los Blancos for the foreseeable future.
Carvajal, 22, joined Madrid in 2002 before leaving for Bayer Leverkusen in 2012.
However, Madrid retained a buy-back clause, which they exercised last summer to bring the highly-rated defender back to the Bernabeu.
The Spaniard quickly became the club's first-choice right-back and Salgado has paid tribute to the performances of the full-back.
"For me, Carvajal's last five months have been impressive," he told reporters.
"We have a right-back for many years, a right-back of very good quality, and he will be in the Spanish national team very soon."
Carvajal failed to make the Spain squad for the World Cup this summer.
