Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thiago Silva has revealed that he could have joined either Real Madrid or Barcelona earlier in his career.
The Brazilian international represented AC Milan between 2009 and 2012, before making the move to PSG for a figure in excess of £35m.
However, the 31-year-old has claimed that he held talks with both Real Madrid and Barcelona during his time with Milan.
"Before going to Milan I had contact with people from Madrid. When I was at Milan I had talks with Barca but details didn't materialise. I asked about some things that were important to me and they weren't answered," AS quotes Silva as saying.
"Sandro Rosell was the president. Suddenly I saw it wasn't a good situation for me. All the talks went well and with respect to Sandro, but I didn't have any option."
Silva's PSG are currently preparing for Wednesday's Champions League Group A match against Real Madrid.
