Roma veteran Francesco Totti has admitted that rejecting the chance to join Real Madrid is the "only regret" he has from his career.
It was widely speculated that the one-club man was given the opportunity to move to the Spanish capital in 2004, but he opted to remain with his boyhood team.
However, having been given a standing ovation by the Bernabeu crowd during last night's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Madrid, the 39-year-old confessed that he wished he had accepted the invitation.
"The emotion was huge, a wonderful memory for me. This is an incredible stadium. [Not signing for] Real Madrid is my only regret," Mediaset quotes Totti as saying.
The frontman has been tipped to announce his retirement at the end of the season.
