Former Real Madrid forward Jorge Valdano believes that Gareth Bale has been too 'anxious' this season.
Bale, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has scored 11 goals and registered 10 assists in 25 games for Los Blancos.
However, Valdano has claimed that the Welshman needs to raise his performance levels.
"Bale has a rare anxiety because he doesn't seem to be with the pace of the game," Valdano told AS.
"When you're anxious, you play at a speed above what suits you, but he is absent. The team saves him.
"There are many points of attention, including Jese, who is going unnoticed in Bale's bad moments."
Valdano also managed Madrid between 1994 and 1996.
