Lucas Vazquez has insisted that Real Madrid can 'take the positives' from their 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday night.
Nanitamo Ikone made the breakthrough for PSG inside two minutes, before a double from Belgian defender Thomas Meunier saw the French champions take a three-goal lead inside 40 minutes.
Marcelo responded for Real Madrid from the penalty spot just before the break, however, and Vazquez has insisted that the match will stand Los Blancos in good stead as they build towards the new season.
"We've had a week of training and this is the first game, it gives us confidence and fitness and furthers our improvement. They've had more training and it shows, but we can be positive. The result wasn't important, what was important was gaining confidence with the ball," Vazquez told reporters.
Next up for Real Madrid is a clash with Bayern Munich on August 4.
