Real Madrid have moved three points clear at the top of La Liga following a 3-1 win at second-place Celta Vigo on Saturday afternoon.

Los Blancos took a eighth-minute lead in Vigo through Cristiano Ronaldo, before Brazilian right-back Danilo made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute.

Celta, who had Gustavo Cabral sent off just before the hour in what was an end-to-end contest, netted late on through Nolito, but Marcelo made sure of the points for the visitors in stoppage time.

Here, Sports Mole has taken a closer look at how each player performed in Vigo.

CELTA VIGO

Goal

Sergio Alvarez: Was left exposed for all three of Real Madrid's goals and did make some decent saves, especially in the second period. Will have questions for some of his defenders. (6/10)

Defence

Hugo Mallo: Struggled to deal with the intensity of Real Madrid in the early moments, but did grow into the match. Might have done better with the space he was afforded further forward though. (6/10)

Gustavo Cabral: Picked up a first-half booking for a strong challenge on Marcelo and was then dismissed for dissent just before the hour. Let his team down during a key moment of the game. (5/10)

Sergi Gomez: Arguably the pick of the Celta defenders in Vigo, but he also struggled to deal with the movement of the Real Madrid attack. Improved after a difficult opening 20 minutes. (6/10)

Jonny Castro: Each of Real Madrid's first two goals came down the left-back's side and he looked in trouble each time he was put under pressure. Well short of the form he has shown this season. (5/10)

Midfield

Pablo Hernandez: Came close to scoring with an excellent header in the first half, but could not beat Keylor Navas. Was then booked in Cabral's red-card incident before being subbed late on. (6/10)

Daniel Wass: Has been one of Celta's most impressive performers this season, but the Denmark midfielder struggled here. Came close with a first-half free kick, but not much else. (6/10)

Augusto Fernandez: Did his best to get around the pitch, but the midfielder was another player that was booked during the red-card incident. Had a frustrating afternoon against Luka Modric & Co. (6/10)

Attack

Fabian Orellana: Was extremely dangerous in the first period and only excellent goalkeeping from Navas stopped him scoring. Faded in the second period, however, and was replaced late on. (6/10)

Iago Aspas: Should have scored at least once after being set up on a number of occasions, while he was fortunate to remain on the field after a number of unsavoury moments while on a yellow. (5/10)

Nolito: Comfortably Celta's beat player in Vigo. Had one cleared off-the-line in the second half, but did register with a super effort late on. Has now scored seven times in the league this season. (7/10)

Substitutes

Nemanja Radoja: Introduced in the 67th minute in a bid to harm Real Madrid's passing in the middle of the park, but the midfielder found it difficult to make his mark against Los Blancos. (6/10)

John Guidetti: Had an excellent chance to find the back of the net moments after Nolito had made it 2-1, but the former Manchester City forward fired his effort wide of Navas's post. (6/10)

Carles Planas: Was not introduced until the 81st minute, but the Spanish defender was nice and bright going forward and played the pass that led to Nolito netting Celta's consolation goal. (6/10)

REAL MADRID

Goal

Keylor Navas: An almost faultless performance from the Costa Rican, who made four or five world-class saves to keep out Celta until late on. Put in a quite incredible display to help his team win. (9/10)

Defence

Danilo: Netted his first Real Madrid goal with a super finish in the first period. Proved a threat going forward when he was allowed space, but Nolito did have some joy in the second half of action. (7/10)

Raphael Varane: Has been superb this season and while he was strong for long spells of this match, the Frenchman almost got caught on a couple of occasions following some loose touches. (7/10)

Sergio Ramos: Was once again a doubt due to a shoulder problem, but the Spaniard started at the heart of the defence. Had a fairly solid afternoon, but got involved in a couple of poor incidents. (6/10)

Marcelo: Once again put in an excellent performance down the left. Celta just could not come to terms with the Brazilian's position on the field and he showed composure to add Real Madrid's third. (8/10)

Midfield

Casemiro: Has made a serious impression over the last month or so and his performance was again impressive here. Nothing too fancy, but performed such an important role in the middle. (8/10)

Luka Modric: Made a timely return to action after a spell on the sidelines. Helped Los Blancos control the tempo in the first period but it was no surprise when the Croatian tired late on. (7/10)

Toni Kroos: Like Casemiro, the German did not do anything spectacular, but he helped his team control matters from a central area. Always looked capable of picking that killer pass. (7/10)

Attack

Jese Rodriguez: Much more like it from the Spaniard, who showed excellent feet and awareness to set up Danilo for 2-0. Not as involved in the second period, however, and was replaced in the 70th minute. (7/10)

Cristiano Ronaldo: Opened the scoring with an excellent finish, but missed decent opportunities to make it more comfortable in the second period. Seems to be over his goal 'drought' in the league. (7/10)

Lucas Vasquez: Injuries have handed the Spaniard a run in the first team and he was again impressive here. Set up Ronaldo for Real Madrid's third and proved a real thorn in Celta's side. (7/10)

Substitutes

Isco: Introduced in the 62nd minute and might have ended the game with two goals. Rattled the crossbar with a sensational strike, before curling one just wide of Alvarez's post late on. (7/10)

Denis Cheryshev: Will have been disappointed not to have started amid Real Madrid's injury problems, but the Russian was a threat late on and set up Marcelo for his team's third of the game. (7/10)

Nacho: Brought on in the 80th minute as Real Madrid looked to close out the game. (6/10)
