Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Real Madrid on Saturday, August 22.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Real Madrid eye possible reinforcements.

Florentino Perez oversaw a significant overhaul of his squad last summer before focusing more on youth in January. As is always the case with Madrid, though, some of the biggest names in football continue to be linked, even in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news of possible comings and goings at the Bernabeu.

Saturday morning's Real Madrid transfer talk news roundup:

Neymar's agent claims Lionel Messi could join Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar is unlikely to return to Barcelona in the near future, and there is more chance of the Brazilian again playing alongside Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain, according to the attacker's agent.

The 28-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Camp Nou last summer, and it had been thought that the South American was determined to secure a return to the Catalan giants at some stage.

However, according to Wagner Ribeiro, there is more chance of Messi - allegedly unsettled at Barca - signing for PSG than Neymar moving to his former club.

"There was a time when he was sad because of his injuries. At that time he was ready to leave, to return to Barcelona or go to Real Madrid. Not today, you can see his joy," Ribeiro told Placar.

"I joke with him – living in the city of light, where everyone wants to stroll, enjoying French cuisine, living in a beautiful house, with friends and family close by, playing for one of the best clubs, with everything a person needs and likes – what reason would he have to leave PSG today?

"Neymar is happy and I think he'll stay at PSG for at least two more years. Today, without a doubt, it's easier for Messi to go to PSG than for Neymar to return to Barcelona – Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. I'm serious, you can't doubt Qatar's economic power."

Neymar's existing deal in the French capital is due to expire in June 2022.

Arsenal, Manchester United 'both interested in James Rodriguez'

Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez during this summer's transfer window.

The 29-year-old is widely expected to leave the Bernabeu in the coming weeks, having struggled for regular action last term, making just 14 appearances in all competitions.

According to Marca, Arsenal and United are both keen on bringing the Colombia international to the Premier League ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The report claims that the playmaker is valued by Madrid in the region of €25m (£22.5m), although the South American's wage demands could yet scupper a move.

Rodriguez is allegedly prepared to accept a slight reduction on his €8m (£7.2m)-a-year salary but is not open to dropping his pay packet by 50%, which has been proposed by some clubs.

The attacker managed just one goal and two assists for Los Blancos last term.
