Former Real Madrid midfielder Clarence Seedorf has reportedly joined the list of possible candidates to replace Santiago Solari at the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is believed to be weighing up whether to dismiss Solari now or wait until the end of the season.
Spanish outlet AS suggests that, should Perez pull the trigger before the season's end, Seedorf may be brought in.
The 42-year-old, who is currently employed as Cameroon's national team manager, is said to have been in Madrid this week to attend an official board of directors' dinner, where he chatted with Perez.
Seedorf has previously managed in Spain with Deportivo La Coruna, lasting 16 games before moving on last year, and he is rumoured to be seen as a good short-term option for the La Liga giants.
Jose Mourinho is the favourite to get the job on a permanent basis.
