Luka Modric's agent Marko Naletilic has reiterated that the Real Madrid midfielder is keen on a move to Inter Milan, where he hopes "to be a star".
The Croatia international has reached out to the Serie A giants over a summer switch following six successful seasons in the Spanish capital.
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has acknowledged that his side may have to wait for a deal to be agreed, however, as Real are holding out for a fee of £670m.
One way or another, Naletilic expects his client to copy former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo by plying his trade in the Italian top flight before the end of his career.
"For whatever reason, Modric wants to be a star in Serie A with Inter. Let's see," he told Tuttosport. "I believe that sooner or later Luka will play in Italy. Like a lot of Croatians his age, he grew up watching Italian football.
"The fact Inter Milan tried to sign him and Modric took it into consideration shows the influence Cristiano Ronaldo is already having on Italian football."
Madrid will reportedly move for Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen if Modric does force his way out of the Bernabeu.
