Former AC Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini has called on the Serie A outfit to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
Khedira, a vastly-experienced German international, will become a free agent at the end of this season, but is widely expected to be sold by Madrid in January.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for the World Cup winner, but Albertini believes that Milan should go all out to secure the 27-year-old's services.
"Khedira would represent a serious and solid investment, capable of resolving most of the structural problems of a team that can and should still be considered a work in progress," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"He's a true champion. Despite still being young, he's experienced and thus able to take on the important responsibilities of every position in midfield."
Khedira has had his injury problems over the last 12 months and missed the World Cup final with a niggle.
