Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has expressed his happiness at the club amid suggestions that he could soon sign a new contract at Bernabeu.
The Spain international has been a regular for Los Blancos this season, featuring on 41 occasions in all competitions, contributing 11 goals and seven assists in the process.
Asensio only has a contract with Real Madrid until the end of June, though, and there has recently been a host of speculation surrounding his future at Bernabeu.
A number of clubs in England and Italy are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding a player who has netted 60 goals and provided 31 assists in 276 games for his Spanish club.
However, recent reports have suggested that the 27-year-old could soon sign a new deal in Madrid.
Asensio has only started 11 La Liga matches this season and just twice in the Champions League, with the forward often overlooked when it comes to the high-profile matches.
However, the Spain international has said that he is happy with his current playing time, and he has now found the back of the net in four of Real Madrid's last six league games, including against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
Asensio has expressed his happiness with his current situation, hinting that he wants to sign a new deal with the club.
"I'm getting opportunities and I'm happy and enjoying it a lot. I'm playing consistently and that also helps a lot for my confidence," Asensio told reporters after the win over Celta.
"You can see the day-to-day work on the pitch and the passion of the Madrid supporters certainly helps. I'm delighted and eager to keep this form up.
"The coach has put his faith in me and I'm making the most of the minutes I'm getting. I hope I can carry on like this because I enjoy being on the pitch. I'm pleased that things are coming off.
"I'm proud because the fans appreciate what I do on the pitch. I've had some difficult moments and the madridistas have given me strength thanks to their support in the streets, on a day-to-day basis and also on social media.
"They know how I feel about this club, and being appreciated like this is comforting to me and inspires me to keep working as hard as I am doing."
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is expected to continue to rotate his side for the upcoming league games against Girona, Almeria and Real Sociedad, with the Italian preparing for the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna and two-legged Champions League semi-final against Manchester City. body check tags ::
