Out-of-favour Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso could supposedly snub interest from Real Madrid to agree a deal with Barcelona.
The 27-year-old is set to leave the Bundesliga champions when his deal expires in the summer and was originally linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Real Madrid are since believed to have stolen a march in the race for Tolisso's signature, with Carlo Ancelotti said to be "very optimistic" about a deal going through.
However, El Nacional now claims that Barcelona are hoping to pip their rivals to the midfielder's services, as Joan Laporta seeks to sign more free agents amid the Blaugrana's financial crisis.
The report adds that Tolisso wants to listen to the Blaugrana's proposal before making a decision on his future, with Laporta identifying the Frenchman as a possible long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.
Tolisso has scored one goal and set up two more in 12 appearances in all competitions this season but has only started four Bundesliga games under Julian Nagelsmann.
The former Lyon man has banked a total of 19 goals and 15 assists in 109 games for the German champions since arriving in 2017, winning the Champions League, four Bundesliga titles and two DFB-Pokal crowns in that time. body check tags ::
