Angel di Maria has denied that he wants to leave Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
The Argentine has been strongly linked with a move to Monaco in recent weeks after losing his regular spot in the first XI to Gareth Bale.
However, after scoring in Madrid's 3-2 win over Valencia at the weekend, Di Maria insisted that he wants to remain in the Spanish capital.
"I never asked for a renewal. All that has been said about my desire to not continue at Real Madrid is a lie," Di Maria told reporters at a press conference.
"I am happy at Real Madrid because I am at a team where the coach has me in mind - when there is a space in the team, I start.
"The important thing is to continue here, I'm very happy. In the summer there was a lot of interest in getting me to leave Real Madrid, but I was just thinking about staying here and doing well at this club."
The 25-year-old has scored six goals this season.
