Juventus forward Paulo Dybala was reportedly hopeful that either Barcelona or Real Madrid would have contacted him during the summer to discuss a move to Spain.
The Argentina international was strongly linked with both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the 2019-20 campaign but ultimately remained in Turin.
The 26-year-old has been a regular for Juve this season - scoring seven times in 16 appearances in all competitions - although his agent has recently refused to commit the attacker's future to the club.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Dybala was waiting for Barca or Madrid to move for him during the summer transfer window but neither club approached the Italian champions.
Dybala, who will see his contract in Turin expire in June 2022, is believed to have been unable to agree personal terms with either United or Tottenham over the summer.
The South American has managed 85 goals in 198 appearances for Juve in all competitions.
