Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic will reportedly join Roma on loan for the 2016-17 campaign.
The 22-year-old joined Real Madrid from Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, but struggled to make his mark during a disappointing first season at the Bernabeu.
Speculation linking the Croatian with a return to Italian football has gathered pace in recent days and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, an agreement has been reached for the midfielder to move to Rome.
The same report claims that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini will travel to the Spanish capital this week to complete the transfer.
Roma have already lost key midfielder Miralem Pjanic to Juventus this summer.
