Lucas Vazquez has indicated that he has no desire to leave Real Madrid in the near future.
Aside from a loan spell at Espanyol during 2014-15, Vazquez has spent his entire professional career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A total of 33 goals and 59 assists have been contributed from 327 appearances in all competitions, largely from right-back or from either wing further forward.
However, now 32 years of age and with his current contract due to expire the day before his 33rd birthday, it is unclear whether a renewal will materialise.
The Spain international remains regularly used by Carlo Ancelotti, but just four of his 16 appearances during 2023-24 have been from the starting lineup.
That is despite an injury to Eder Militao, who would have added competition to the right-back area on occasions where he did not feature in the centre.
Ahead of Real's Champions League fixture with Union Berlin, Vazquez spoke to the media, where his future was naturally a topic for conversation.
In response to a question over whether he would sign a new contract, as quoted by ManagingMadrid.com, Vazquez replied: "Time goes by quickly! Yes, of course.
"Real Madrid is the dream I've had since I was little, it's my home and I'm very happy here, so of course."
On becoming more of a fringe player with Los Blancos, he added: "There are good moments and bad moments. When you aren't getting minutes or you don't feel important, you feel bad.
"You have to keep your head cool and train to the max, knowing that you're capable and believing in yourself. I don't lack that. I'm at Real Madrid, where I've always want to be, so I will give my all for myself and for my club."
With Real having already progressed through to the Champions League last 16 as group winners, Vazquez is expected to retain his place in the team for the meeting with Union Berlin in Germany.
That would follow the 83 minutes that he played at the weekend as Ancelotti's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis, leaving them two points adrift of surprise La Liga leaders Girona in the table.
