AC Milan have reportedly held talks with the representative of Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
Despite impressing at the Bernabeu since his arrival in 2012, Modric has been frequently linked with a switch to Serie A over the past 12 months.
Inter Milan have previously held an interest in the Croatia international, although it now appears that their city rivals are considering an approach for the 33-year-old.
According to Sky Sport Italia, discussions have been held between the Italian giants and Modric's agent Vlado Lemic.
However, it remains unclear whether Milan are in a position to meet the player's wage demands as a result of their recent issues with financial fair play.
Real boss Zinedine Zidane may also prefer to keep Modric in his squad for at least another year, unless a suitable replacement can be found.
