Luka Modric's agent Vladica Lemic has revealed that a final decision on his client's future is yet to be made, but his situation at Real Madrid "will be clearer" next week.

The Croatia international's contract at Bernabeu is due to expire at the end of June, and he is currently being heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.

Modric has no plans to retire, and it is believed that clubs from Saudi Arabia are keeping a close eye on the developments, with the midfielder being tipped to leave Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Lemic has addressed the 38-year-old's future at Bernabeu and revealed that the situation "will be clearer" next week.

"So far there is nothing clear about Modric's future with Real Madrid. Next week things will be clearer for us. Real Madrid is Modric's home and together we will decide what is best," Lemic told Koora.

Modric's contract is due to expire at the end of June

Modric has again been a regular for Real Madrid this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and registering seven assists in the process.

However, the Croatian is no longer an automatic pick in midfield, with Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Real Madrid are expected to switch to a 4-3-3 formation next season, with Kylian Mbappe set to arrive on a free transfer, which could see Jude Bellingham drop back into midfield.

As a result, it will be even more difficult for Modric to secure regular starts in 2024-25, and while Kroos is expected to sign a new deal, Modric is being tipped to move on.

What could be next for Modric?

There will be Saudi Arabian clubs prepared to pay him a serious amount of money to move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Meanwhile, there is also expected to be MLS interest in the Croatian, who will not be short of options if he does leave Real Madrid at the end of next month.

The midfielder's former club Dinamo Zagreb have also made no secret of their desire to bring him back on a free transfer.

Modric is believed to have been offered the chance to stay at Real Madrid as a coach, but the playmaker has shown this season that he is still more than capable of operating at a high level.

Another one-year deal at Los Blancos has not been ruled out at this stage, and it will be fascinating to see how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks. body check tags ::
