Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has called on Kylian Mbappe to 'make the step up' if he wishes to fulfil his potential.
Having starred for Paris Saint-Germain and already guided France to the 2018 World Cup, the 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world.
However, at a time when the attacker continues to be linked with Madrid, Modric has encouraged Mbappe to move to a club which features in a more competitive league.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Modric said: "Mbappe has everything to dominate the scene.
"But I think that to make the leap in quality he needs to go to a championship in which his team does not win so easily."
While Mbappe has just two years left on his contract, he appears likely to remain at Parc des Princes with no clubs currently wishing to meet his asking price.
Recent reports have suggested that the player will agree fresh terms with PSG, providing that any new deal includes an affordable release clause.
