AS Monaco will make a world record £85m bid to land Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report.
The Portuguese is reportedly unhappy at the Spanish side and has been linked with a move away from Madrid this summer.
Ronaldo has two years left on his contract at the Bernabeu and the club may choose to cash in on the 28-year-old to recoup the £80m they paid Manchester United in 2009.
Monaco have spent over £110m this summer on Radamel Falcao and Porto duo James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho but they are prepared to break the world record transfer fee with a move for Ronaldo, reports The Independent.
Madrid president Florentino Perez has denied that he will sell Ronaldo this summer, no matter what the price.
