Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly obsessed with the idea of bringing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu.
The 20-year-old has scored six times and provided four assists in eight appearances for PSG this season, including a hat-trick against Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
According to AS, Perez sent a series of WhatsApp messages to Bernabeu chiefs after the European clash during the week, with the Los Blancos president eulogising over the attacker's performance.
The report claims that Perez views Mbappe as the only player who could replicate Cristiano Ronaldo's impact at the Bernabeu, but Madrid are likely to have to come up with an offer of £260m to convince the French champions to part with their star player.
Mbappe, who played a key role in France winning the 2018 World Cup when he was just a teenager, has scored 66 times in 95 appearances for Les Parisiens in all competitions.
Madrid also continue to be heavily linked with a swoop for Paul Pogba, although it has been reported that the Manchester United midfielder would prefer a return to Juventus over a move to Spain.
