Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly remained hopeful that Kylian Mbappe will sign a new contract with the club, amid doubt about his future in the French capital.
The 23-year-old's current contract at the Parc des Princes is set to expire in the summer, after the club have persistently attempted to agree new terms with the World Cup winner.
In January, Mbappe can negotiate future deals with other clubs, most notably Real Madrid, who he has been heavily linked with, but PSG's hopes of retaining the winger were boosted this week when the France international ruled out a move to the Bernabeu next month.
However, he did not confirm that he would not be joining Los Blancos at the end of this season, with the Spanish giants still confident of securing his signature in the summer.
The National News reports that PSG are hopeful that they can persuade Mbappe to sign a new deal with the club to extend his stay, suggesting that his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or prize are best served at PSG.
Mbappe has scored 147 goals in 195 appearances for PSG since arriving from Monaco in 2018. body check tags ::
