Real Madrid have confirmed that a deal has been struck with Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale.
The 24-year-old winger, who has been angling for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu after scoring 26 goals in the Premier League last season, will be unveiled before the Madrid public tomorrow.
Although a fee has not been officially disclosed, reports suggest that the figure stands at around £85.3m, surpassing the £80m Los Blancos paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009. The Welshman will sign a six-year contract and will wear the number 11 shirt.
Spurs had resigned themselves to losing last year's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year, with manager Andre Villas-Boas confirming that Bale was heading for the Spanish capital following today's North London derby.
