Real Madrid have reportedly identified Levante winger Jorge de Frutos as an ideal replacement for soon-to-be free agent Lucas Vazquez.
Versatile Spaniard Vazquez will see his existing deal at the Bernabeu expire in June, and with contract talks currently failing to lead to a resolution, he is expected to end his 14-year association with the La Liga champions this summer.
Vazquez's departure would free up space for a new wide player in Zinedine Zidane's ranks, and Los Blancos have supposedly earmarked one of their former starlets as his successor for the 2021-22 campaign.
According to Marca, De Frutos - who left Real Madrid to join Levante last summer - could make an immediate return to the capital as Zidane's side have first refusal on the 24-year-old.
De Frutos scored seven goals and chalked up five assists for Real Madrid Castilla but never made an appearance for the first team, and he is also believed to have caught the eye of Sevilla with his performances this term.
The attacker has struck three goals and set up his teammates 10 times across all competitions this term, and he penned a deal with Levante until 2025 upon his arrival last year.
