Ajax have reportedly placed a £53m price-tag on Donny van de Beek, who is said to be a target for Real Madrid.
The midfielder has just enjoyed the best campaign of his career, contributing a total of 12 goals and 12 assists as Ajax won the Eredivisie title and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
The form of the 22-year-old has naturally led to interest from other clubs, with Real allegedly rating the player as a cheaper alternative to Manchester United's Paul Pogba.
However, according to De Telegraaf, Real have been informed that they may have to pay £53m if they wish to sign the Netherlands international.
The Spanish giants are well stocked for options in that area of the pitch, leaving Zinedine Zidane to consider whether Van De Beek would offer value for money at this stage of the transfer window.
The player still has three years remaining on his contract at Ajax.
