Spanish giants Real Madrid have cancelled the contract of goalkeeper Antonio Adan.
The 26-year-old has spent his entire career at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he has only made 18 appearances in all competitions.
The arrival of Diego Lopez in January saw Adan fall behind the Spaniard and Iker Casillas in the pecking order, which in turn has resulted in the club allowing him to depart on a free transfer.
"Real Madrid and Antonio Adan have rescinded the contract which tied the player to the club. Real Madrid are grateful for his professionalism and his affection for the club, and wish him all the best in his next step," read a statement on the club's official website.
It is expected that Adan is keen to find a new club in La Liga, rather than move abroad.
