Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to offer midfielder Luka Modric a new contract.
Modric won the 2018 Ballon d'Or and FIFA's 'The Best' trophy after helping Madrid win a third straight Champions League crown before inspiring Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final.
The 33-year-old will see his current deal with Los Blancos expire in the summer of 2020, however, and he was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
According to Diario AS, Madrid are preparing to offer Modric a new contract and the European champions are confident that the midfielder will extend his stay with the club.
Modric, who moved to the Bernabeu from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2012, has scored three times and registered five assists in 30 appearances for Madrid this season.
The Croatian has enjoyed vast European success since arriving in Spain, but has only won La Liga once.
