Real Madrid have reportedly placed Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe towards the top of their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.
The return of Zinedine Zidane is likely to result in a number of changes being made to the first-team squad, and Real are known to be keen on signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
However, according to AS, Real intend to make a significant push to secure the signature of Mbappe from PSG before the start of next season.
Mbappe still has just over three years remaining on his contract at PSG, but it is being suggested that the 20-year-old would welcome the opportunity to make the switch to the Bernabeu.
The France international is said to have been left frustrated by the club's recent exit from the Champions League, and with a fine handed to him for turning up late for a team talk from manager Thomas Tuchel.
PSG may also have to make a big-name sale in the summer in order to improve their position with FFP.
