Barcelona have joined La Liga rivals Real Madrid in the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, according to a report.
The 21-year-old was recently linked with a January switch to Madrid and Liverpool after building on his impressive campaign last time out in the opening weeks of 2017-18.
Werner already has six goals in nine games for Leipzig this term, having also netted three times for Germany during their successful Confederations Cup campaign in the summer.
It is claimed by Mundo Deportivo that Barca could now rival Los Blancos for the 21-year-old's signature when the transfer window reopens in a little over three months' time.
Former Stuttgart ace Werner stressed earlier this month that he is only currently focused on Leipzig, despite being left flattered by the links to Madrid.
