Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to let Achraf Hakimi stay at Borussia Dortmund for another year in the hope of boosting their chance of signing Erling Braut Haaland.
Hakimi has spent the past two seasons on loan at the Westfalenstadion and has particularly caught the eye this term with his marauding displays down the right-hand side.
Dortmund are keen to keep hold of the 21-year-old and, according to Spanish outlet AS, Madrid may now use him as a makeweight of sorts to sign prolific striker Haaland.
Los Blancos supposedly intend to build a strong relationship with BVB as part of a long-term plan to bring in Haaland, who is one of the most sought-after players in world football.
Madrid are unable to justify a move for the Norway international this year, but they are said to be planning a big-money bid for the summer of 2021.
