Toni Kroos has reportedly come to an agreement over a new contract with Real Madrid.

The 33-year-old has again been an important player for Los Blancos during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 40 occasions in all competitions, contributing two goals and five assists in the process.

However, there has been huge uncertainty surrounding his future at Bernabeu, with the midfielder previously revealing that he was considering retiring at the end of the season.

Kroos's existing deal with the Spanish and European champions is due to expire at the end of June.

However, according to Marca, the German has agreed a new contract with Carlo Ancelotti's side, which will run until the end of next season.

Kroos allegedly rejected the same extension a year ago, as he was unsure whether he would be able to continue playing at this level until the summer of 2024, which led to him considering retirement.

However, the midfielder's form this term has made him confident that he will be able to continue performing for the capital giants for at least one more season.

Kroos has made 22 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid during the 2022-23 campaign, contributing two goals and three assists in the process.

The German has also provided two assists in nine Champions League appearances, with Ancelotti's side in a strong position to reach the semi-finals of the competition.

Kroos has helped Real Madrid reach this season's Copa del Rey final, meanwhile, making four appearances in the competition, with Los Blancos preparing to face Osasuna for the trophy.

The midfielder made the move to Bernabeu from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024, and he has represented the club on 405 occasions, scoring 27 goals and registering 88 assists in the process.

As well as Kroos, Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Luka Modric, Nacho and Mariano Diaz only have contracts with Real Madrid until the end of June.

Benzema, Asensio and Modric are expected to follow Kroos's lead when it comes to signing extensions, but Nacho and Mariano could both depart on free transfers.

Ancelotti's side will be bidding to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League when they travel to Chelsea for the second leg of their quarter-final next week, holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg. body check tags ::
