Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Gareth Bale will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer.
The Welshman had reportedly been told by Zidane that he would not feature again for Madrid, but the Frenchman has had a change of heart.
After Real Madrid's 3-1 opening day victory over Celta Vigo, Zidane told Movistar La Liga: "He is here, like all of the players. I am happy with his match. He is going to stay."
In the absence of Eden Hazard, Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo, Bale was handed a start against Celta and assisted Karim Benzema for Madrid's opening goal.
The 30-year-old had been expected to join Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning last month, before Real Madrid surprisingly pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute.
