Real Sociedad have moved eight points clear of the La Liga bottom three with an impressive 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano at Estadio Anoeta tonight.
The hosts were ahead after just six minutes courtesy of Imanol Agirretxe, who directed Dani Estrada's cross from the right into the net.
Agirretxe then turned provider for Sociedad's second when he nodded the ball across goal for David Zurutuza to head home.
Real were firmly in control of the match and made the scoreline convincing with two goals in the space of three minutes shortly after the break.
Firstly French midfielder Antoine Griezmann latched onto Gorka Elustondo's through ball to strike home from 12 yards before Carlos Vela added a fourth.
The on-loan Arsenal striker struck low into the centre of the goal from the edge of the box to complete the scoring and see Sociedad climb two places to 14th.
