Nicolas de Preville netted a second-half equaliser to earn Reims a 1-1 draw with Guingamp on Saturday.
His strike cancelled out Anthony Weber's early own goal, before Floyd Ayite was sent off late on.
It was the away side who got off to the better start and were ahead in the sixth minute when Weber turned a low cross into his own net.
Thibault Giresse came close to doubling Guingamp's lead in the 20th minute, but his shot from the centre of the box was saved in the bottom corner by Kossi Agassa.
However, the home side drew level just short of the hour mark when Mustapha Yatabare headed the ball into the path of De Preville, who acrobatically volleyed his shot past Guy N'Dy from the edge of the box.
Reims were reduced to 10 men shortly after when Ayite was shown a second yellow card and duly sent off with just over 30 minutes remaining.
The draw means that Reims slip to seventh in Ligue 1, while Guingamp stay 16th.
