Rennes striker Ola Toivonen has revealed that he came to the club in order to help the French side fix their position in the Ligue 1 table.
The 27-year-old Swedish frontman joined from PSV Eindhoven in January and has since helped Rennes fight to stave off relegation.
"Before I signed here I saw the table and how they were in the league and so I said to myself 'ok, let's go there and try to fix the situation'," Toivonen said in an interview with broadcaster BeIN Sport.
"I know I'm a good player, I come from a good team, I played a lot of big games during my career, so the biggest challenge was to come in to a new team after being in a team like PSV for five years."
Rennes are currently sitting in 12th position in the top flight of French football.
