Lille earned a point at Rennes in Ligue 1 on Saturday after holding out for a 0-0 draw.
It was Rennes who started on the front foot and nearly took an early through Mevlut Erding, but his effort went just wide of the post.
Shortly after Wesley Said used his trickery to create a chance but dragged his shot just wide of goal.
However, it was Lille who came closest to scoring before the break when Ronny Rodelin skimmed the post just before half time.
Julien Feret had the first chance of the second half for Rennes, but his free kick drifted just wide of the target.
