Paris Saint-Germain have edged a step closer to the Ligue 1 title after Monaco could only claim a 1-1 draw against Rennes in Wednesday's game at the Roazhon Park.
Neither side could get an early foothold in the game amid a cagey start, though James Lea Siliki did connect with a corner to blast wide with five minutes played.
From the quarter-hour mark onwards, however, the match exploded into life, with both teams mustering several chances apiece.
The opener came the way of Rennes on 20 minutes when Sanjin Prcic's cross was met by Joris Gnagnon from close range and drilled into the bottom-left corner of the net.
Monaco equalised just nine minutes later when Radamel Falcao played the ball into the path of Rony Lopes, who duly rifled home from the centre of the box.
Rennes could easily have gone on to win the game but lacked the end product and the final whistle heralded a share of the spoils.
The result means that PSG will win the title with a win against Saint-Etienne and a loss by Monaco against Nantes this weekend.
