Nelson Oliveira has rejected interest from two Premier League clubs to join Ligue 1 side Rennes.
The striker was being pursued by Stoke City and Cardiff City, but has instead joined the Brittany club on a season-long loan deal from Benfica.
The team's head coach Philippe Montanier told the club's official website: "Nelson was our priority, he is a complete player and promising. He is technically very good but is also athletic."
The deal gives Rennes an option to offer the 21-year-old a permanent contract at the end of his loan spell.
