Striker Kevin Doyle has been forced to pull out of the Republic of Ireland squad for Friday's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland.
The 31-year-old frontman was yesterday named in Martin O'Neill's final squad, but sat out today's training session and will now return to Crystal Palace, where he is on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, for treatment.
It is believed that O'Neill will not move to replace Doyle, who has featured in just one of Ireland's three Group D fixtures so far this campaign.
The Boys in Green are level on points with Poland at the top of the group.
