Robbie Keane: 'Republic of Ireland are keeping feet on the ground'

Republic of Ireland skipper Robbie Keane says that the whole squad are staying focused after a good start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane has claimed that the side aren't getting carried away by an encouraging start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Martin O'Neill's side have taken eight points from their first three games and held world champions Germany to a 1-1 draw away from home last month.

Ahead of the meeting with Scotland on Friday, the veteran forward said: "One thing I can say, I know there are players who haven't played here before and it's about keeping players' feet firmly on ground and not get too excited.

"We know exactly what we have to do and the job we have to do, and certainly everybody is looking forward to it.

"These are the games that players want to be involved in. We haven't had a competitive game like this against a rival for a while, so it's certainly exciting."

Keane is ROI's all-time top scorer with 65 goals.
