Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle has admitted that his side did not play well against Kazakhstan in their opening game of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Late goals from Robbie Keane and Doyle saw Ireland eke out a narrow 2-1 win in Astana in their Group C fixture on Friday.
"At half-time, the instruction was to get higher up the pitch as we had been too deep," Doyle told RTE.
"I was delighted to get the winner, but we struggled all night
"We should be playing better than that. At least we got the win."
Ireland are back in action on Tuesday, when they take on Oman in a friendly international in London.
