Claudio Ranieri's Inter Milan continued their poor start to the new Serie A season by slipping to defeat at Catania this evening.
It all appeared to be going well for the Blue and Blacks when Argentine midfielder Estaban Cambiasso put them in front in the sixth minute.
That was the way that the score-line remained as both sides headed into the break, but just one minute after the restart hosts Catania were level through Sergio Almiron.
One soon became two for Catania, who found themselves in front in the 49th minute courtesy of a penalty from Francesco Lodi.
Ranieri's side pushed for an equaliser as the game drew to a close, but the Catania defensive unit stood firm to ensure they secured all three points.
Inter are on the road again on Tuesday when they travel to France to face Lille in the Champions League.
