Roma have announced the signing of RB Leipzig left-back Angelino on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old joins the Giallorossi after spending the first half of the campaign on loan with Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray, with whom he scored one goal and set up one more in 19 appearances.
Angelino started five of Galatasaray's six Champions League group-stage matches, but he played just eight times in the Turkish top flight, with his last appearance coming at the end of October.
As a result, Leipzig summoned Angelino back from Turkey before shipping him out to Serie A, and Roma will supposedly need to pay just €5m (£4.3m) to sign Angelino permanently this summer.
"When I heard the word Roma, I didn't hesitate. Today, I'm proud to be a part of a great club with an incredible history and a team full of champions," Angelino told the Roma website. "I'm excited to meet the coach and my new teammates and put myself at their disposal."
General manager Tiago Pinto added: "With Angelino, we welcome a fully matured player. We believe that his technical abilities, combined with his wealth of experience in the most competitive European leagues, can match and improve our squad's potential."
Angelino has made a century of appearances for Leipzig since joining on an initial loan deal in 2020, recording 12 goals and 29 assists, but he fell down the pecking order a couple of years ago and spent the 2022-23 season on loan with Hoffenheim.
Prior to his switch to the Bundesliga, Angelino - whose Leipzig deal expires in 2025 - was on the books at Manchester City for eight years, winning two EFL Cups, but he played just 15 times for the reigning European champions. body check tags ::
