Jean Michael Seri's agent has confirmed that the midfielder would be open to moving to Serie A following talks with Roma a couple of weeks ago.
The Ivorian joined Fulham only last summer for a club record fee of around £25m but is searching for a new club after struggling to settle in at Craven Cottage.
Roma's new manager Paulo Fonseca, appointed last month after Claudio Ranieri's departure, already knows Seri from working alongside the 27-year-old at Portuguese club Pacos Ferreira.
Speaking to TeleRadioStereo, Seri's agent Franklin Mala said: "My Italian partner and I spoke to Roma a couple of weeks ago. We'll see how the situation evolves.
"He'd be happy to play in Serie A and Roma are a very good club."
Crystal Palace have also reportedly launched an approach for Seri, but the midfielder would prefer a move to Italy.
Seri was set to join Barcelona following a remarkable 2016-17 season with Nice, with the two clubs agreeing a transfer fee, only for the move to fall through after the La Liga side changed their minds at the last moment.
