New Roma manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly told eight players that they do not have a future with the club and that they will be sold this summer.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager took charge of his first Roma training session on Thursday and has wasted little time in imposing his authority on the squad.
Roma have been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio and Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, but the club's overhaul of their playing squad is likely to feature many outgoing players after Mourinho's arrival.
According to the Daily Mail, Pedro, Justin Kluivert, Steven Nzonzi, Robin Olsen, Ante Coric, Davide Santon and Federico Fazio are among those who have been told that they will permanently leave the club this summer.
From that list of players, former Chelsea winger Pedro was involved in Roma's side the most last season making 27 appearances, and Mourinho has a previous relationship with the Spaniard as he was the manager to bring Pedro to Stamford Bridge in 2015.
Mourinho signed a three-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico in May, after taking over from Paulo Fonseca. body check tags ::
