Roma tell potential suitors that they would not welcome any offers for midfielder Daniele de Rossi.

Roma sporting director Franco Baldini has insisted that the club have no interest in selling Daniele de Rossi.

Reports had linked the Italian midfielder with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico following recent comments from Baldini that suggested that Roma would consider offers for the 29-year-old.

However, Baldini has now moved to clarify his comments.

"Maybe I was a bit careless and that has led to this situation, but Roma does not want to sell De Rossi," he told Rai Sport.

"I answered a question about what I would do if offers came in. But once and for all, we are not interested in selling."

English champions Manchester City are said to be interested in signing De Rossi.
